Hello:
Welcome to my web page! I am looking forward to a wonderful year here in 2nd grade. I cannot wait to get to know the students and parents. It is a privilege to guide you through this 2017-2018 school year. Secong grade is a such a fun grade and we will enjoy learning how to be critical thinkers in math and reading and explore new concepts in science and social studies. Get ready for an adventure!
 
A little about me:
This will be my 12th year teaching in Taylor. My fifth year teaching at Pasemann. I grew up in Jarrell, Texas. I married to best friend James who is a coach and A.P. history teacher here in Taylor. We have 2 amazing kids. Breken is 11 and will be attending TMS. Anistin is 8 and will be in 3rd grade here at Pasemann. I love spending time with my family and friends. My family and I love to fish, take long rides, and bar-b-q. My goal is that your child grows and learns to be a better individual all around.

Thanksgiving Holidays - Nov. 20th - 24th

Taylor ISD is offering opportunities for secondary students to earn credit in academic subjects and for elementary students to accelerate a grade level by passing the appropriate examinations for acceleration. Exams will be offered for all grade levels 1-5 and most TEKS-based courses in grades 6-12.                                         Registration Period: November 1-17, 2017                                             Test Dates: December 14-19, 2017 and January 9-11, 2018

 

School Holidays - December 19th - January 3rd

Students will be out of school for the holidays and should return on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017

NPE Spring Book Fair - April 24th - 28th

NPE will hold a Spring Book Fair the week of April 24-28. Monday - Thursday 8:00-4:00; Friday 8:00-12:00; Tuesday late night 5:00-7:00

NPE Literacy Night - Nov. 14th @ 6:00pm - 7:00pm

You're invited to join us for a night filled with Community Volunteers reading aloud to students, Arts & Crafts for the whole family, Free book for every student that attends, wear your pajamas, Free Hot Dogs from the PAT. The activities will be held in the NPE cafe and gym.

Red Ribbon Week - Oct. 23rd - 27th

Each Day of the Week will be a special dress up theme day. 
Monday - I Believe in Me!! - wear red
Tuesday - Hunting for a drug-free world - wear camo
Wednesday - Back to the future - dress in your favorite decade
Thursday - Peace out to drugs - wear tie-dye
Friday - Be a hero everyday - dress like a superhero or storybook character

Please look through your child's homework folder.  If your child has a grade below a 70, he/she can do corrections for a better grade.
 
Our field trip to the Palace Theatre is next Friday the 27th of October.

Fall Picture Day - Thursday, October 12th

Student Fall Pictures will be taken on Oct. 12th. If you wish to purchase pictures please fill out the order form (sent home with students) and include payment on the day of pictures.

We have been to the library and picked up two books.  The expectation is to read both books and take a reading counts test (test on comprehension - understanding what was read) on the book.  If your child is not successful, he/she keeps the book and rereads the book and then takes another test on the book.
 
If your child is successful on the book, he/she may get a new book on his/her level.
 

Education Go Get It Week - Sept. 25th - 29th

Our campus will be participating with dress up theme days and a college float parade.  A flyer will be going home on Tuesday with more information.

Friday lunch bunch is open to any student who completes homework daily, gets his/her agenda book signed daily, and is a leader every day - all day!

Progress reports went home Friday.  Please make sure you sign it and I will return them Tuesday.  
The NG stands for no grade.  We have not started Science yet, so there is no grade for that subject.  We do 4 weeks of Social Studies and 4 weeks of Science.
 
If there is a NG for another subject, please email that teacher.
 
We will continue to work on class and school rules.  We will continue to review expectations.  Please know that colors will be changed after reminders are given and the desired behaviors are not met.

Pasemann Leaders Care!

Our 3rd grade service project will be collecting cleaning supplies to help Hurricane Harvey victims. Collections Aug. 30th-Sep. 7th. Mops, Brooms, Scrub Brushes, Trash Bags, Rubber Gloves, Disinfectant & All Purpose Cleaners

NPE student drop off and pick up 

Beginning on 8-23-17 the new driveway with the entrance located along North Dr. will be open for morning student drop off and afternoon dismissal. Cars will enter and exit via North Dr.

NPE spirit T-shirts

Our P.A.T. will be selling the NPE spirit shirts from Aug. 21st - Sep. 8th. Cost of shirts are $12.00ea. - students will be bringing home order forms or you can contact the school office for information. Cash or Checks made payable to NPE PAT.

Please remind your child the importance of listening and following directions.  We are getting more comfortable and are wanting to talk a lot more.  I have been working with the students the last two weeks.  Please let them know that colors will be changed.

There is no reading log for the weekend, but there is math homework.  Please make sure and complete the math homework and return it on Monday.

First week....check!

What an amazing first week of school.  The students are working on procedures, expectations, and just getting the hang of things.
 
We made fun first day of 2nd grade pictures and we drank jitter juice to help us calm our nerves.  We ended the week with a special treat of goldfish because we are o'fish'ally 2nd graders!
 
If you not have brought in school supplies, please do so.  
If you have not turned in your paper work, please do so.
 
We will begin reading logs on Monday (8-21-2017).
Math quizzes start Monday too!
